Mission Statement

PCG strives to bridge the gap in understanding and in practice between the financial, philanthropic and family office worlds for purpose of harnessing the best of each for the benefit of the others.

History

Founded in 1995 to serve the commercial interests of a wealthy Japanese family with investment interests in the United States, PCG has evolved into a broad-ranging strategic advisory firm serving the international interests of ultra high net worth families, businesses, foundations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). PCG's engagements span the 180 degree arc from the purely philanthropic to the purely financial with particular expertise in aligning the two for the benefit of both.

PCG's Founder

A third generation native New Yorker, Mark Fabry founded PCG with the specific intention of bridging the gap in understanding and in practice between the philanthropic and financial worlds.

Following a Jesuit education at Fordham University, he designed his own personal post-graduate studies which included intensive experiences in Asia, specifically, independent travel in a then third-world communist China, Tibet, India and Japan. After numerous challenging and illuminating experiences including working with Mother Teresa in the slums of Calcutta and studying with the Dalia Lama, he returned to his native New York to embark on a career to bridge the divides he had personally seen.

Recognizing the prominence of the private sector in modern society he began his career on Wall Street as a Financial Analyst in the Corporate Finance and Merger and Acquisitions Department of Bear, Stearns & Co. Ltd. where he provided buy and sell-side counsel to wealthy families and commercial enterprises.

Realizing that the client families, the families that hired the bank, that employed and cared for their staff and that had their name on the front door of their businesses, that it was the families which were more closely aligned with his values, Mark endeavored to build his commercial acumen by acquiring operating experience and therewith was retained by his first client family to assist in the building and management of an international business.

Upon the successful sale of joint venture company, Mark, thru PCG, has since availed his services to other international families and institutions including Forbes 100 families, Fortune 10 companies and leading foundations and NGOs.

What We Do

PCG was intentionally designed to serve a wide array of clients across a broad range of interests. Serving a diverse clientele across the family office, commercial, financial and philanthropic arenas and working across the 180 degree arc from the purely philanthropic to the purely financial and to various degrees in between, PCG is specifically designed to identify under-utilized assets, to align existing resources and uncover unique opportunities for financial and philanthropic engagement.

Where We Work

From Iceland to Iowa, Detroit to Dubai, PCG was established with an intimate understanding of the global marketplace. Designed specifically to bridge divides and facilitate cross-cultural communication, PCG is uniquely skilled at closing gaps in understanding and identifying opportunities, both financial and philanthropic.

What Makes Us Different

PCG sees the world through a wide angle lens. We are strategically designed to see outside the confines of an increasingly specialized world. Each engagement begins with a clear and true assessment of client needs and circumstances, the detailed specifics of the task at hand and the auditing and inventorying of existing resources available to address the task. Often this process illuminates new opportunities and enhances client directives to achieve even more than originally intended. PCG's many resources are then applied to manifest desired client outcomes.

The following four quotes, when taken together, do well to articulate our process and continue to inspire us everyday…

"The secret to all victory lies in the organization of the non-obvious."
- Marcus Aurelius

"Determine that the thing can and should be done, and we shall find the way."
- Abraham Lincoln

"Perfection is attained in slow degrees; it requires the hand of time."
- Voltaire

"Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing."
- Theodore Roosevelt
